EXERCISE WITH GOD IN MIND
Being fit and healthy is a Godly thing to do. In fact, you have a partner in exercise and healthy living - God.
Here's 3 ways to bring more prayer to your fitness routine.
1. Pray while
you walk, walk while you pray. Doctors will tell you that just 30 minutes of walking each day will make a noticeable difference in your overall health.
Helpful Hint: Have a destination for your walk. Begin your walking prayer with gratitude for your surroundings. Focus on God's nearness and offer praise. Save your personal prayers of petition for the return leg of your walk. End with a great big whoop of thankful - and pat yourself on the back for
following through on your decision to walk with prayer.
2. Core training is essential for a healthy body as well as a healthy spirit.
Helpful Hint: Train your body's core muscles with
Pilates exercise that focus on drawing in your belly button while you go through a series of simple
repetitions. Train your spiritual core by reciting Psalms or favorite prayers while you're doing your Pilates. It's two-fer core challenge!
3. Listen and dance to uplifting spiritual music from the faith-based musicians you love.
Helpful Hint: Dance an hour away, grooving to the music, praising God, shaking your booty and getting your boogie on! Fitness is fun when you invite your faith to God's dance party.
Be
creative, be determined, and get started training your body and soul to work together. Keep God in mind.
