From Susan:
Dear Family,
The discussion about the name of the "Seventh Day Blessings" continues. Though it was not my intent, it has become a bit of a debate - as described by Ariel H. in the message below.
It's probably a good time to re-state
Prayables statement of belief. I encourage everyone to read it in its entirety. It's a little long...but not boring...and it has cool pictures! Here's an excerpt:
Prayables is a safe and sacred place where tolerance is a virtue. It’s a spiritually liberal
community. And we’re polite about it. No shouting matches. No arm twisting. No trying to win’em over to your side. Prayables honors all faith traditions.
Thank-you for joining in the discussion.
Blessings, Susan
From Ariel H.
"Susan, I immensely appreciate and respect
the work you do through Prayables to encourage and support all people of faith.
I grew up with the perception that Sunday was the seventh day, being Christian, learning the 10 commandments and going to church on Sunday.
As an adult, I learned I was wrong, both by virtue of
the organization of the current calendar and the fact that many seventh day worshipping Christians focus their denominational identity on the fact that they are not 'legally' day" worshippers, making the idea of calling Sunday the Sabbath a major violation of "truth".
I went on line to look for some clarification. Found only more debate.....
Sending you prayers that you are
led to a name for the feature that transcends questions about your choice."
