There are two ways to live. You can live as if nothing is a miracle, or you can live as if everything is a miracle. Prayer is not a spare wheel you pull out when things go flat. It's a steering wheel to keep you on the right road. May you be blessed to pray through good times and bad, to pray with sincerity, and to pray often. Find your way in prayer. A pauper was walking along the road, dejected and sad. It had been years since his wife had smiled. God had blessed them with a houseful of girls, beautiful, wise and resourceful—each one a gem. From the moment his eldest had come of age, matchmakers began knocking on their door with suggestions of fine
young men.
But alas, when they heard that there was no money for a dowry, they turned away. “Your daughters are wonderful,” they would say, “but how can we expect a young man to join a family that cannot even contribute a few coins toward the wedding celebration and settling the young couple in a new home?”
As a last resort, he set out to beg, hopeful that his community—“merciful ones, the children of merciful ones”—would have pity on his family and help him in his time of
need.
But he was mistaken. It wasn’t that they were stingy or uncaring. It was just that they too were poverty-stricken and had barely enough to support their own families. And those who had more were overextended, fielding requests from far and near for assistance.

MY NEPHEW THOMAS
Please pray for my nephew Thomas, who is in jail at this time, for drugs etc. His hearing is June 10, suppose to be released. Please pray that he learned his lesson and will leave drugs alone. This is the 2nd time he is in
jail for drugs and concealed weapon. He fled the country for a year and returned, but did not give himself up. He was caught with drugs in his room, it's been 10 months. Hope he learned his lesson. He was in rehab at least 3 times already. - anonymous |
