17 ARTISTS CAPTURE A SURREAL NEW YORK FROM THEIR WINDOWS
Windows are often described as the eyes of a building. They are a symbol of pondering, an aperture through which we can experience the world outside while remaining inside — an important feature now that millions of New Yorkers have had to move their lives indoors.
The New York Times reached out to 17 illustrators and artists currently sheltering in place in neighborhoods across the city and asked them to draw what they see out of their windows, and to show us what it feels like to be in New York at this rare moment in time.

| FROM LAURIE: I don't think images of a woman hanging in mid air off of a cliff is something anyone wants to see at this time. When so many are at there wits ends
with being in close corners with loved ones. This should not go out to people because we don't know everyone 's state of mind. It just bothered me since we know this people can't naturally lend over a cliff and stay that way. Please screen things that come on this site so it doesn't offend anyone or can depict a artificial sense of trusting God by lending over a cliff.
Thank You
FROM SUSAN: What a thoughtful and insightful message! I apologize if the image I used gave offense and was a poor choice. It was not my intention. I am enlightened by your point of view. I selected the image because I envisioned the prayer petitioner being closer to God
in that cliff and maintains her balance.
I am grateful you took the time to write and I will share our exchange with the community.
FROM LAURIE: Thank you for your positive response during this Pandemic . Your site is a blessing to me and I appreciate your online website so very much. I think it is all of our jobs to bring different points of view to all involved where ever we are in life, Whether that be online, out in the world and in person. Please continue to do what you do best on this site. I do just love this daily source of inspiration and will continue to
support your website.
