Dear Leonard, The first time you came to my attention was in the 1960s during an English lesson, when your poems were put up as an example of modern poetry in the English language. Later a friend played one of your albums and since then hardly a day has gone by that I have not listened to at least one of your tracks. Many people think your music is dark or depressing. But during times of depression and during long nights when sleep eluded, you have kept me
company and lifted my spirits. For over fifty years, you have been the one constant, the soundtrack of my life. And now that you have joined your muse in that big concert hall of fame, I cannot be sad because your soul lives on in the music that keeps playing as an accompaniment to my life. Sleep well my friend.
