I used to get one question in my inbox all the time: How do I figure out what to do with my life?

These emails still come occasionally from dreamers + realists, alike. I know how haunting this question can be because I used to ask it of myself nearly every night when I graduated from college. There was this looming pressure to be something great, to do something that mattered and it was swallowing me.

I was driven by the need to perform and I was so afraid I was going to miss it. I was going to miss the one thing that proved I was supposed to be here taking up space.

When I think about the theme of "presence" and "being here now" that we have been digging into all month, I cannot help but think about the things that kept me from being present. That took all my attention. To name a few: fear. Doubt. Perceptions of inadequacy. Anxiety. Fear of failure. All of these things mounted up to this one desire that I would be able to make a dent in this world.

But I want to let you in on something that I discovered in my own journey. The more hyper-focused I was on not making a mistake or figuring out the "thing" I was made to do, the longer I delayed the process. Because here's the thing: you just have to start showing up. You have to put your skin in the game.

The ones who make things happen are not the ones who talk to everyone about the dream. They pick the first step and they just move towards it. You likely won't have it all figured out but it is also likely that you have something you're thinking about... A creation. A blog. A project. A major. A book. A lifestyle shift. FAMILY AND FRIENDS WHO NEED PRAYERS

Prayed for Aaron and Joshua to get a full time job with benefits before the Oct. 29,19. Pray that Bette eye continue to heal. Pray that our church doors don't closed and that God will send me a word or a sign if l Ann the next in line to become the next past or once our former past or leave us the end of this year ?
