Blessings

It takes guts to stand for something. May God bless you with courage to take a stand on whatever it is you can do to make the world a better place for humankind. Get gutsy for a cause bigger than you alone.

Life is like a blanket too short. You pull it up and your toes rebel, you yank it down and shivers meander about your shoulder; but cheerful folks manage to draw their knees up and pass a very comfortable night. May you be blessed with
cozy contentment which makes for lovely living.

When you’re anxious, you can spend too much time trying to hurry up the worry. May you be blessed with calm and patience. Wait for it, and wait willfully, allowing God to do the good work.

Everything in our built world–the water we drink, the food we eat, the place we live–if it’s good, it’s good because someone, a generation or two ago, decided to make it better. And if it’s not good, or not good enough, only our action is
going to make it better. May you be blessed to see the world around you becoming better.

Doing nothing is a way to do something important. The action is nothing, the activity is prayer. May you be blessed by meaningful communion with God.

Prayers

Oh Lord Thank You for spring, the season of Your expression of joy! Let every bloom remind me of Your grace. Let each sunny day bring light to my soul. As I spring ahead let these months give birth to warm thoughts and kind gestures. Amen

God, Heal what hurts in me. Restore what I have lost. Expand my heart to embrace that which I would rather not. You are help in my need. Amen

Worries fill my mind until I realize that, once again I’ve missed an opportunity to do good work. Help me feel Your gentle hand guiding me out the door, urging me forward to offer whatever help I can. On my own, doubts assail me. Be my
shield and give me the courage to reach out to those in need. I know what you want, but need Your strength to carry it out.

Father God I come to You with my relationship in shambles. I try with all my heart to work things out and I am frustrated at every turn. Help me help us. Let the right words be on my lips to ease the built up tension. Show me how to bend
with Your will. Bring peace. Amen

Bless me oh Lord, on this holy day, with peace that surpasses expectations, joy derived from things beyond material possessions, love that knows no boundaries, and strength that emanates from faith in You. Amen
