THE LIFE-GIVING RHYTHM OF READING THE BIBLE

I've felt like a wanderer in the Bible for a long time.
I love Scripture, and I love the chance to learn so much from many different books of the Bible, but I would go through periods that felt less meaningful than others. These periods were when I hopped from book to book, not planting down roots in one space.
It wasn't until January of this year did I realize how much my time simply reading and soaking in Scripture was lacking. I'm so used to studying that I sometimes miss the simplicity of reading a book from start to finish. Just delighting in the Bible.

In January, a group of girlfriends and I— 5 of us— started a small community bible reading plan. We got the framework from my friend Jason Dyba.

We picked a book of the Bible and created a text thread. We committed to reading one chapter 5 days a week. Weekends are off-time or a chance to catch up. OVERWHELMED

Dear God, I haven't prayed in a couple nights. I'm sorry, I'm just overwhelmed with my present life circumstance, and I have been tearful, and depressed! I am in no way upset with You! I'm Very Blessed through your grace and I eternally Thank You! I'm still mourning Carl's death, and I'm so broken and lonesome! Please send me someone to lessen my loneliness Thank You! God, please help me not to need my sister, anymore! I forgive her, I just don't like being around her! Dear God, You know what I went through with her on 12-27-21!!! She has her own life, and has a sick husband, so I don't want to have to need her for anything!!! Please allow me to get things I need right now! Thank You, God. Thanks for hearing, and receiving this prayer. Through our Lord I pray. Amen!!
