An armed man claiming to have bombs took a rabbi and three others hostage at the Congregation Beth Israel in Colleyville, Texas, recently.

One hostage was released, three escaped, and FBI agents killed the hostage-taker after a tense eleven-hour-long siege.

"Captives of Hope" is a recording of the sermon given by Rabbi Angela Buchdahl on the Sabbath following the ordeal.

Rabbi Buchdahl is a prominent rabbi at Central Avenue Synagogue with a large internet following. The gunman knew of the Rabbi from his online research of Jewish life and synagogues while planning the attack.

Rabbi Buchdahl was not the target of the attack, yet the gunman asked to speak to her while holding the hostages in captivity.
