A man once dreamed he died, and immediately, he entered a large room with a huge banquet table filled with a great variety of food. People seated at the table were obviously hungry, but their chairs were five feet from the table, and they were somehow riveted to their seats. Furthermore, their arms were too
short to reach the food on the table. Everyone was fighting, quarreling, and pushing each other trying to get the only five-foot-long spoon.
Finally, in an awful scene, a strong bully grabbed the spoon, picked up some food, and turned it to feed himself, only to discover the spoon was so long that as he held it out, he could not touch his mouth. The food fell off. Immediately, someone else grabbed the spoon,
tried to feed himself, and again failed. The man observed his own dream and said, “This is hell.”
Then the dream took him to another room. This room was exactly like the first in all respects. Yet these people were satisfied. They had wonderful, happy expressions on their faces. Here no one was fighting for the spoon. In fact, one man held the five foot handle and fed another person. They took turns feeding
each other, and all were satisfied. The man observed this dream and said, “This is heaven.”
