You become weak if you wait for others to do things for you instead of taking personal responsibility for yourself. In the town of Monterey California, something happened that illustrates this point. Monterey used to be a paradise for pelicans. After fishermen cleaned their fish, they would throw the
entrails to the pelicans. The birds would become content, fat, and lazy. Eventually, ways were discovered to make use of the entrails commercially, and the pelicans were out of free meals. But, the pelicans made no effort to fish for themselves. They would not struggle for food; they just waited around and became thin and weak. Many starved to death. They had forgotten how to fish for themselves. Always work hard - it builds character and it will never leave you hungry.
"Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day
teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime."
