Dear God,
You gave me the expanse of eternity
as my birthright,
this space that I inhabit
tentatively and always so circumspect.
You created galaxies, rain forests and archipelagos
to illustrate what is
possible.
Yet, sometimes all I see
is my small subdivision of space and time.
Remind me, I asked to be eternal, embraced, exponential.
Please turn on that one
specific star I see each winter night.
The one burning against a black sea.
Give me Your vision
and it will be finally clear to me.
I'm not alone on the journey
and the road is blissfully
never-ending.
Amen
