Go now to the inner sanctuary of prayer
God will speak to you in the silence
Your Daily Blessing                  Wednesday October 21, 2015
In French, you don’t really say “I miss you.” You say “tu me manques,” which is closer to “you are missing from me.” How lovely is that? May you be blessed with love and longing that whispers "you are missing from me" whenever you are apart.
Be lovely. Forward the Daily Blessings to someone missing from you.
Today's Prayer
It’s everywhere. Sitting on the bus or driving in the car. Waiting at the deli counter, number 56 in hand. Who knew 3 pounds of lean corned beef could get me closer to the promised land? Trapped inside the dentist’s chair, my eyes glued shut, I give my heartfelt thanks, and it doesn’t hurt as much. Finding time to pray is not as hard as I thought. Whether I’m kneeling in front of my bed, or elbow deep in soapsuds at the kitchen sink, Dear God, You hear me, always.

Prayables True Story
The boy in this photo is 12 year old Devonte Hart. The officer is Portland police Sgt. Bret Barnum. Both were at a Ferguson support rally in Portland, for different reasons. Branum was there for crowd control, Hart was carrying a sign that said “free hugs.”

Jennifer Hart, the boy’s mother, said the day after the grand jury decision not to charge officer Darren Wilson in the shooting of 18-year-old Michael Brown,  they went downtown “with the intention of spreading love and kindness” by holding signs such as “You Matter’ and “Free Hugs.” The family then joined the nearby Ferguson rally.

“My son has a heart of a gold, compassion beyond anything I’ve ever experienced, yet struggles with living fearlessly when it comes to the
police and people that don’t understand the complexity of racism that
is prevalent in our society. It was one of the most emotionally
charged experiences I’ve had as a mother.” - Jennifer Hart
