Living with chronic pain is an unfortunate reality for many people. Pray Maker Lori Strawn, weaves poetry into prayer in this stirring affirmation of understanding. Lori looks at pain from a different angle than usual. She sees it as a reminder that she is not alone in her struggle. The beauty of prayer can soften
the sharp bite of pain.
Forget-Me-Not
It’s a knock at the door.
It’s an invitation in the mail,
a nudge: “Call me.”
And when I do,
such sweet relief.
Not a burden, but a bequest:
A bouquet of forget-me-nots,
disguised as pain.
I thank You for keeping me mindful
of that which is greater than
me.
You in my sufferings,
in my struggles,
in my sorrow,
raise me higher
with every ache.
