Ami Vitale took this photo at the Lewa Wildlife Conservancy in
Kenya. “I was spending the day with Kamara, the rhino keeper, to show what his life is like, and when it started to rain he pulled out the most incredible umbrella,” she says. Kamara has raised this black rhino, Kilifi, since he was 1 day old. “If Kamara, his keeper, got too far away, the baby rhino would come charging up to him and want to make sure he was near and safe.
