Your Week in Blessings
Need to catch up on a Daily Blessing or two you missed? Get 'em all - you deserve it!
It’s far too easy to slide from confidence into pride. To go from a healthy view of self to an unhealthy perspective of your gifts and abilities. May you be blessed with humility. Give glory - not to yourself, but to God. It's the perfect way to stay grounded.
Give glory to God and then give the Daily Blessings.

Today's Good News Story

"To me, it was like a challenge to see if I was willing
to do whatever it takes to get to work.” ~Jourdan Duncan

As its name might suggest, Industrial Way is not known for being pedestrian-friendly. The road in the Northern California city of Benicia is lined with trucking companies, warehouses and metal-finishing factories. As it curves north, before it turns into Channel Road, the street cuts under busy Interstate 680.

So when Cpl. Kirk Keffer of the Benicia Police Department spotted a lone, lanky teenager walking on Industrial Way during the graveyard shift a few Saturdays ago, he was curious. It was after 11 p.m. and dark outside, and the boy was just nearing the highway overpass...READ MORE

Bible Break

Let not the wise boast of their wisdom or the strong boast of their strength or the rich boast of their riches, but let the one who boasts boast about this: that they have the understanding to know me, that I am the Lord, who exercises kindness, justice and righteousness on earth, for in these I delight” declares the Lord.

 Jeremiah 9:23-24

I had to go in this past Tuesday, to the dentist; my front tooth had signs of decay. I didn't heed going in sooner.

They had said hopefully, just a filling, otherwise root canal, depending on the tooth being too close to the nerve.

I prayed last week.

I prayed during my walk, when I exercised in my driveway (which is 4x a day) I prayed like crazy. I prayed in tears, I was concerned about them hitting the nerve.

My dentist is also a Christian. And as I sat in the chair, I started quietly praying the Our Father. When I looked up at the ceiling, there was a poster...of the Our Father prayer. I laughed and thought in a joking way, "OK. I guess you have been listening."

Dr. Scobee told me exactly what he was going to do, and which way he was going to go. I prayed the whole time he did the dental work. And before I knew it, he was done. It took maybe 10-15 minutes.

Then he gave me a mirror to look at it and I was delighted! Beyond words. Shocked actually.  The decay had been removed.

As hubby and I left the office, I thought "Sweet, no root canal, and no nerve issues."

So thank You God. for making it quick and (except for the novocaine shot) painless. My tooth is back to clean again.

Today's Affirmation

I will let go of every struggle that I call my own. I know that although of myself I can do nothing, with God, all things are possible. I let go and let God handle these seemingly out-of-control situations.
