Is God moody? Is God tricky? Is God just waiting to get you? Heck no. May you be blessed to pray to a God who is always honest, always calm, and always in your corner. God has a love streak not a mean streak. Be faithful in prayer.
Share the Daily Blessing and share the love streak.

Today's Affirmation

I am a little bluesy today. There's no real reason, no crisis, no specific event that caused it. Just a case of old-fashioned melancholy. Just for today...I willI not try to figure out why, or place blame. I will simply acknowledge it with mild disdain, rudely brush it aside, and go be nice to someone.
Sunday's Bible Verse

In the seventh month, on the first of the month, there shall be a sabbath for you, a remembrance with shofar blasts, a holy convocation.

-Leviticus 16:24

Rosh Hashanah begins tonight, SundayOctober 2, 2016 at sundown. The Hebrew words mean "first of the year" and is commonly called the Jewish New Year.

There is little similarity between Rosh Hashanah, one of the holiest days of the year, and the American midnight drinking bash and daytime football game. There is, however, one important similarity between the Jewish New Year and the American one.

Many Americans use the New Year as a time to plan a better life, making resolutions. Likewise, the Jewish New Year is a time to begin introspection, looking back at the mistakes of the past year and planning the changes to make in the new year.

Isn't it always a good time for a person of faith to have a new beginning?

Shalom, peace be with you.
