"He replied, "Because you have so little faith. Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there,' and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you."
Matthew 17:20
A woman in North Carolina remembered the Bible passage about the power of faith to move mountains. There was one mountain between her cabin and the sea shore. She went on her front porch and decreed, "Lord, I have faith in You to move this mountain so I will have a
clear view of Your sea." She went to bed, and the next morning arose and went out on the front porch, and gazing at the mountain she shouted in anger, "Just as I expected!"
True prayer is not a command to God or a wish. It's an expectation that God hears your heart and you hear His answer. No hocus-pocus. No magic wand.
Is it a bonus when you ask and receive in precisely the manner requested? You betcha. Should it be your expectation? Hardly.
Yes, true prayer is coming to God with full faith, but the faith is in the Lord, not in your personal demand.
True prayer is sharing your problems, your disappointments and your joy.
It's giving praise to the Almighty. It's asking on behalf of others. It's gratitude.
If your life is not what you expected, try praying in truth. What happens next may not be what you had planned for, but it will be God's marvelous plan for you.
