Prayables | deliriously happy

There are two types of people. Those who come into a room and say, "Well, here I am!" and those who come in and say, "Ah, there you are!"

Happiness can not be traveled to, owned, earned, worn or consumed. Happiness is the spiritual experience of living every minute with love, grace, gratitude, and a Godly attitude. May you be blessed to know true happiness and be delivered from wont of false substitutes.

The Elephant Rope

As a man was passing the elephants, he suddenly stopped, confused by the fact that these huge creatures were being held by only a small rope tied to their front leg. No chains, no cages.

It was obvious that the elephants could, at anytime, break away from their bonds but for some reason, they did not. He saw a trainer nearby and asked why these animals just stood there and made no attempt to get away.

“Well,” the trainer said, “when they are very young and much smaller we use the same size rope to tie them and, at that age, it’s enough to hold them. As they grow up, they are conditioned to believe they cannot break away. They believe the rope can still hold them, so they never try to break free.”

The man was amazed. These animals could at any time break free from their bonds but because they believed they couldn’t, they were stuck right where they were.

Like the elephants, do you go through life hanging onto a belief that you cannot do something, simply because you failed at it once before? Failure is part of learning; break whatever it is that holds you back. Try, again.

Moving Forward to Something Better

Dear Heavenly Father,
I come before you today asking for another blessing for a job now. When I went to work today, I did not know that I had been let go. I work so hard to do a good job and end up being the one they let go. Never late, always work and trying to bring in revenue and take care of the customer and company. But the owner felt I was doing too much and let me go whereas she kept others who were late, missed days - only worked maybe 2 days out of 3, and did not enjoy the job.

Bible Break

Even the strongest among us have moments when the burdens of life seem too great. It’s then that Lord whispers to our hearts:

Come to me all you who are weary and burdened
and I will give you rest.
