Your Daily Blessing

Mistakes are evidence that you're trying. Missteps, slipups, and bad judgement are all a natural part of being human. It's what comes next that defines your destiny. May you be blessed to learn from your mistakes and not be deterred by them. When God made a plan for your life He didn't expect that you would be perfect. In fact He counted on you finding your own way...sooner or later. Try again. This time you're sure to get it right.
Make no mistake about it, you must forward today's Daily Blessing.

Scripture Study

"Receive all people with a cheerful expression."
Ethics of the Fathers 1:15
Does this scripture mean you are expected to receive someone cheerfully when you yourself are in a bad mood? The answer is yes. The fact that you are feeling unhappy does not entitle you to inflict your bad mood on others. Cheerlessness and moodiness are not victimless crimes. Those who are around moody people often feel they are somehow responsible. You have a moral obligation to be happy, it starts with a smile.
Thank you to Rabbi Joseph Telushkin and author Dennis Prager for their wisdom and inspiration for this scripture study.
