Here's a remarkable true story told by Bar Kuperstein, one of the Israeli hostages recently released from Gaza.
Bar's mother, Julie, said that while her son, Bar, was in captivity, she did not go to any of the protests in Israel that were against the government. She didn't want to sow divisiveness in her country. She campaigned for her son's release, but only in peaceful ways.
One day, her cellphone rings. Julie picks up the phone, and it's the Hamas terrorist who was holding her son hostage calling from Gaza.
The Hamas terrorist says, "Listen. I want you to know I have your son here. And we noticed that you don't attend any of the rallies. You're not
protesting like many of the other mothers. And we're letting you know that if you ever want to see your son alive, you need to start protesting against the government and attending these rallies."
Julie responds calmly to the threat, and she says to the terrorist on the phone, "I want you to know something.
My son is not even in your hands. My son is in the hands of God, the Creator of the world." She spoke with bold strength and conviction. "And not only that, you are also in the hands of God, the Creator of all."
