There’s a certain smugness that comes with satisfaction. It’s an unintentional measurement of their happiness vs. mine. And when I win, I lose. Dear God, I value humility and find it difficult to achieve. Help me to be humble.

Dear God, I am ready, willing, and able to take my life to the next level. To be better, to do more, to love unselfishly. Lord, take me higher!

Dear God, let me taste the sweet nectar of love and affection. Help me know friendship that fills me and thrills me. I have faith, I have hope, please grace me with the love of another.

Precious God, fill and refill me with a gentle love, a heart covered in kindness, and lips that speak softly of Your eminence.

God, thank You for loving me on the days I don’t love myself. Strengthen me from the inside out so I will not again allow judgment and disappointment to seep through my skin. Blessed are You who sees to it that my soul remains pure.

May you be blessed to find a home that’s not built with bricks and beams. A place where the windows look out upon your soul, and its foundation is kindness, love, and grace.

May God bless us with memories that work as they should. To remember with clarity the sweet and the good.

The test of faith is whether I can make space for difference. Can I recognize God’s image in someone who is not in my image, whose language, faith, ideal, are different from mine? If I cannot, then I have made God in my image instead of allowing Him to remake me in His.
