Â
The king’s usual place is in the capital city, in the royal palace. Anyone wishing to approach the king must go through the appropriate channels in the palace bureaucracy and gain the approval of a succession of secretaries and
ministers.
Â
One must journey to the capital and pass through the many gates, corridors, and antechambers leading to the throne room.
The subject’s presentation must be meticulously prepared and adhere
to an exacting code of dress, speech, and manners upon entering the royal presence.
Â
However, there are times when the king comes to the fields outside the city. At such times, anyone can approach him. The king receives them all with a smiling face and a radiant countenance. There are no barriers or protocols.
There is no selection process. There is access to all.
Â
The serving girls, farmers, and shopkeepers all come out to greet their king. Every man, woman, and child is in the fields. When the king is in the field, they all have unrestricted access, which is unavailable to the highest-ranking minister in the royal
court.Â
Â
The king knows that the kingdom can not survive without the working class. Every subject adds value to the crown.
Â
And so it is with us. Loyal subjects to One King, One kingdom. The kingdom of God.
Â
God is always in the fields. Just as He sits on the throne on high, He is within our humble beings. He is at our place of work. He is with us when we play and when we pray.
Â
Know that God, the almighty King, is always within reach. Every time you say, “Blessed are you, oh God,” God gifts You with His Divine presence. When you thank God, give blessings to another, praise God, and pray with intention, you meet the King in the field.Â
Â
God bless.
