Dear God, I see You on the horizon, constant and strong, never distant, always within reach. Thank You for Your guidance, Your blessings, Your omnipresence. For with You, I am never alone.

I declare this my day of reflection. I pray for this country, with its quirks and fissures, its beauty and bounty, and its generations of brave people who serve, each in their own capacity. Thanks be to God, Creator of all.

Dear God, I ask You to guide me this day to a new beginning. Help me make the improvements I want to see in my life. Instead of just another day, let today be special. Give me the will to do what it takes to make change happen. Thanks to You, O Holy One.

Dear God, Fill these empty chairs so they may know Your Word. They have ears, but they do not hear, they have eyes, but they do not see. Show me how to lead the way for everyone to feel what I feel: love and gratitude, joy and peace, always with You, my precious God.

I’m having a grand old time. Dear Lord, protect my grandchildren, keep them healthy, make them wise, infuse them with goodness. When they face darkness, shine Your light. If they meet adversity, give them strength. Above all, give them hope, faith, and love for You.

The faithful love of the Lord never ends! His mercies never cease. Great is God’s faithfulness. His mercies begin afresh each morning. Lamentations 3:22-23

May God bless the veterans who served our country. They fought for us, crushed our enemies, diverted disaster, and saved our freedom. Blessed are they, deserving of our praise.

May God bless you and your family to stay together through good times and bad, happy moments and sad, and may your love always be present in your actions to each other.

If you want the last word in an argument, say, “You’re right.” May God bless you with wisdom, restraint, and a willingness to do what it takes to keep the peace.
