MUSINGS ON MONEY AND SELF-WORTH
What are you worth? Nobody's going to come up on
the street and ask you that. The truth of the matter is that most people are far more willing to tell others about their sexual lives than their actual financial assets.
Think about it.
Think about how few people you know who tell you all about their possessions and all their money.
But nonetheless, we think about what we're worth in terms of finances. If you're the sort of person who tracks your investments
daily, who knows the value of your real estate, and checks your bank account daily, chances are you could more or less say what your financial assets are right off the top of your head. You know how much you're worth.
If you're not the sort of person who checks things out so carefully, an hour or so of
investigation is all it would take for you to more or less come up with a rough estimate.
Far fewer though, are the people who when they hear that question, think it's a stupid and insulting question.
"Where do you come off equating what one's worth with one's financial holdings?"
