Dear God, I treasure my quiet time. I make it, I protect it, I use it to talk to You. Thank You, O God Holy One, who unwinds the tangled ribbon of disappointments and despair and fills me with joy instead. In these too few minutes of prayer, I am renewed.

Dear God, give me the will to confront my “I wants” and “I needs” with recognition of the blessings I have. Show me the way to contentment, and I will surely follow. Discipline is my watchword. Appreciation is my reward.

I hear the calls of the needy, but I am unsure how to help. I am caught up in a tangled web of requests for my money and time. Resentment is overwhelming, and generosity is on the retreat. I need balance from You, O Lord. Calm my soul, clear my vision. Guide me.
