THE MOST IMPORTANT BIBLE VERSE OF THEM ALL
What is the most important verse in the Bible? Great scholars spend endless hours, days, and lifetimes trying to answer this question.
One wise man said the most important verse is Leviticus 19:18, “Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself.”
Another scholar argued for Genesis 1:27, “Every human being is made in the image of God.”
And yet one sage said, “There are two Bible verses both saying the
same, that exceeds them all; ‘The first lamb you shall sacrifice in the morning and the second lamb you shall sacrifice in the evening.’Exodus 29:39, Numbers 28:4.”
He continued, “I don’t disagree with the other opinions, but the biblical concept of deliberate sacrifice twice a day complements all Bible
verses. You have to have faith in God.
Yes, you have to love your neighbor as yourself. Yes, you have to respect the dignity of every human being.
But you have to remember that it’s not enough to do it in your heart or your mind. You have to make a daily sacrifice every morning morning and afternoon.
It won’t be to offer an actual sacrificial lamb. Instead, we should make devotional sacrifices for God and humankind.
Sacrifice should be a continuous, perpetual, ongoing practice in our lives that’s implemented in our daily deeds.”
This is such a powerful lesson. Think about faith in God. Think about the love in your heart for all human beings, living things, and all that has gone before us. Do something intentional
for the betterment of the world. Practice these lofty, sublime, spiritual values and implement them in your daily actions.
