A man was driving his Toyota Camry to work as a beautiful red Lamborghini drove alongside him.
"If only I had a Lamborghini, I would be so happy."
As he's thinking about the Lamborghini, another man is
riding his bicycle along the same street. He sees the guy in the Toyota Camry.
"How wonderful it would be to have a car, one that's reliable and comfortable like the Camry."
As the man on the bicycle was riding along admiring the Camry, he rode past the bus stop where a woman sat waiting for a bus.
"I wish I had a bicycle to get me back and forth to work. I could save so much time, sleep a little later, save money, and not have to be tied to a transit schedule."
As she's thinking about how nice it would be to have a bicycle, a young fellow walks by the
bus stop.
"If I could afford a bus pass like that lady sitting under the bus shelter, I wouldn't have to walk every day in the rain, the freezing cold, and the blazing heat."
As he's thinking about the temperature-controlled bus that could drop him off near where he needs to go, an older gentleman is passing him on the sidewalk in a wheelchair being pushed by a caregiver.
"If only my health were better and I could walk again. I would be independent, and I could go wherever I needed to without assistance. I could just walk out my front door and go."
As
he's thinking about all that could be and isn't, and what should be and won't, he notices a disheveled beggar sitting on the sidewalk with a tattered cardboard sign. The man was a double amputee and obviously going through hard times.
The sign the man was
holding read, "I am grateful for my lot in life. The good Lord has given me another day to live, love, and appreciate the wonder the world has to offer. Praise God!"
