PLAN-TING FOR THE FUTURE
While walking along a road, I saw an old man planting a carob tree.
I asked him how long it would take for the tree to bear fruit.
The old man told me it would bear fruit in seventy years.
“Are you so healthy a man that you expect to live that length of time and eat
its fruit?” I asked.
His answer touched my heart.
“I found a fruitful world because my ancestors planted it for me. Likewise, I am planting this tree for my children.”
