THE LIGHT THAT WINS
A businessman has three
children. He called his two sons and one daughter to his office.
“One of you will be the CEO of my company. I am assigning the exact same size room to you each. I will give you an equal amount of money. I want you to fill it with whatever you can find to cover every square inch of the room.”
One son filled the room with sand. “Papa, the sand is not expensive yet easily fills the room.”
The other son filled it with things. A car. Furniture. Large and small appliances.
Clothing, toys, art, and magazines from floor to ceiling. “Look at all the material comforts that fill up this room.”
His daughter placed a single candle in the dark room and lit a match to it. The room was filled with light.
The father said, “You, my daughter, are the wisest.” You will run our family business.
Life is not about collecting material things, and it’s not about filling up space. God wants us to find light in the darkness and rejoice in the light of goodness.
Find your light within and nurture it. Find the light from Bible studies. Find the holy light in every person you meet. Live brightly.
