Dear Susan,
Life is full of surprises. I've been recuperating nicely from cancer and was moving
on.
I decided to get back to routine stuff, like cataract surgery. I had first cataract surgery 3/2. Total success. On 3/23 I was on the "table," Doc ready to begin the second eye when I had a brain aneurysm and stroke. I'm OK.
Miraculously.
As in real estate,I've learned
that medical care is all about location, location, location.
The Surgicenter is right next to the regional Hospital, ER there diagnosed correctly, CAREFLIGHT transported me to Dallas" #1Brain hospital. They did a four hour surgery and sent me to ICU for two weeks, then Rehab for the rest of the time.
I was released from the Hospital on Monday.
The amazing part is that I am intact and functioning as normal. I'm a little puny because of being inactive for weeks,
but it's temporary. They told me that 50% of the people who have what I had don't even make it to the hospital.
I'm thinkin' Why me?
My sweet sister-in-law said, Why not you?
She's right.
To think of all the moving pieces that had to be just right.
I am very fortunate, a miracle, really.
I may write a book on How To Have a Stroke. Apparently I did it just right as I am still here to tell the tale.
I suppose the why me question will be answered in time.
I wanted to tell you that Prayables is helpful. Thank you for writing and posting it.
Sending good wishes to you
